CHRIS WEEKS

BIOGRAPHY

Chris Weeks is one of the UK’s finest Jazz singers, as well as an actor, musician, session musician and producer.

Chris started singing professionally at 16 years old, having sung with the County and National Youth Jazz Orchestras. He has performed at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho, The Cavern Club in Liverpool, Twinwood Vintage Festival, The Big Feastival as well as at parties, weddings, private events and on cruise ships and in hotels across the world.

At 24, Chris decided to train in acting, and so took the 3 Year Acting Course at the Oxford School of Drama. In 2017, He left the school early to play Guy Haines in Strangers On A Train for Frinton Summer Theatre. He then played Will in 'For The Time Being' for BBC Radio 4.

In 2018, Chris was in the original cast of Cilla The Musical, playing legendary bassist Johnny Gustafson. The show was a huge success and toured the UK for 18 months.

After this, in 2019, Chris toured the world with The Runaround Kids, a 50's/60's rock and roll band, as their frontman and pianist.

Later that year, Chris was delighted to be offered the role of Buddy Holly on the 30th Anniversary Tour of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, a tour which was cut short in March 2020 by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Over the course of the pandemic, Chris fell back on his recording skills to dive headlong into the world of remote session singing, specialising in jazz. He recorded countless demos, commercials and beautiful original songs and became a well-known and respected name in the session world.

One of his most popular projects was as the featured singer on ‘100 Years’ for YouTuber OR30, a wonderful song currently on 13 million streams.

During this time, Chris also wrote and recorded with The Big Three, a reincarnation of the legendary Merseybeat rock and roll band. The band recorded a debut EP of original tunes 'The Big Three' in 2020, with a follow-up EP 'The Sugar Ray's Session' in 2021.

In 2023, Chris once again had a chance to play the role of Buddy Holly in the revived 30th Anniversary Tour of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, which ran until October.

Chris is currently fronting 'The Bluejays' and their sell out theatre tour 'Rave On: The Rise Of Rock And Roll'!
